Detroit Red Wings center Dylan Larkin reportedly expanded his trade wish list to 10 teams, and the New York Rangers still didn't make the cut, despite their strong start to the 2026-27 season.

Despite a strong 7-3-1 start to the season by the New York Rangers, Detroit Red Wings center Dylan Larkin has reportedly left them off his expanded 10-team trade wish list. Larkin, who previously requested a trade following a strained relationship with general manager Steve Yzerman, initially listed only three preferred destinations. According to reporting from The Detroit Free Press, Larkin expanded that list to 10 franchises, but the Rangers failed to make the cut.
Blue Line Station's Scott Rogust argues that Larkin's omission demonstrates the Rangers still have work to do to re-establish themselves as a top destination for NHL superstars. While Larkin reportedly approved Metropolitan Division rivals including the Carolina Hurricanes, Washington Capitals, and New Jersey Devils, New York remains excluded after missing the playoffs the past two seasons.
