The Oilers’ 6-2 win over the Mammoth on Saturday was never close to being close — not for a second was the result in doubt.

Connor McDavid registered five points to propel the Edmonton Oilers to a 6-2 victory over the Utah Mammoth on Saturday night. McDavid scored just 40 seconds into the contest as Edmonton jumped to a 5-0 lead heading into the third period. The win improved Edmonton's record to 6-1-1 overall and established a franchise record with five consecutive road wins to open the season.
Edmonton welcomed back Zach Hyman, Colton Dach, and Jake Walman from injury, while Mathieu Joseph added a breakaway goal. Trent Frederic also engaged in a fight with Utah's Jack McBain, responding to an incident from the teams' previous matchup. Head coach Mike Babcock praised his team's elevated performance and balanced lineup contributions across all four forward units.
