Senators Lose Preseason Home Opener 4-2 To Leafs’ Split Squad

The Toronto Maple Leafs split squad defeated the Ottawa Senators 4-2 at Canadian Tire Centre in their preseason matchup on Wednesday night. Ryan Tverberg scored the decisive goal late in the third period before Teddy Blueger sealed the win with an empty-net tally.

Henrik Rybinski and Steven Lorentz also scored for Toronto, while Dylan Cozens and Hoyt Stanley provided goals for Ottawa. Goaltender Anthony Stolarz made 19 saves in the victory for Toronto, while Ottawa netminder Linus Ullmark stopped 20 shots in the loss.
