The Hartford Wolf Pack, AHL affiliate of the New York Rangers, announced on Thursday that they have signed veteran goaltender James Reimer to a professional tryout agreement. The 38-year-old netminder could emerge as a stabilizing option for the Rangers as they navigate significant goaltending injuries at the NHL level.
New York recently lost starter Igor Shesterkin to a season-ending lower-body injury, while backup Joonas Korpisalo is also on injured reserve. Reimer, who played 14 games for the Ottawa Senators last season, brings extensive experience across 16 NHL seasons and 539 career appearances.
