Florida Panthers winger Brad Marchand sustained a lower-body injury late in the second period of Tuesday's win against the Los Angeles Kings. The injury occurred following a collision with Kings defenseman Brandt Clarke that pushed Marchand into the net, bending his left leg awkwardly against the goal post. Marchand needed assistance leaving the ice and struggled to put weight on his leg.
The 38-year-old was appearing in just his second game of the season after undergoing surgery in August. Marchand adds to Florida's growing injury list, which already includes star center Aleksander Barkov on long-term injured reserve with a lower-body injury.
