Flyers getting healthier at an important time in the season.

Philadelphia Flyers forward Denver Barkey is progressing toward a return from consecutive preseason lower-body injuries. The 21-year-old took a major step forward during Sunday's practice by shedding his non-contact sweater for a regular jersey. Head coach Rick Tocchet confirmed that Barkey could be an option during the team's upcoming three-game road trip, which begins Monday against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Barkey began the season on injured reserve after aggravating his initial injury sustained against the Washington Capitals. In his rookie campaign last season, Barkey recorded five goals and 17 points across 43 games. The Flyers will need to make a roster move to activate him, having previously signed veteran Garrett Wilson to fill the vacant spot.
