Matvei Michkov is silencing his critics and giving the Flyers hope for a turnaround

Writer Nate Duffett argues that Philadelphia Flyers forward Matvei Michkov is silencing his critics after leading the team to consecutive victories over the Ottawa Senators and Colorado Avalanche. The 21-year-old forward leads the Flyers with six goals through the first 11 games of the season, registering four points across the two recent wins following an initial nine-game losing streak.

Duffett highlights Michkov's developing chemistry alongside rookie Porter Martone under head coach Rick Tocchet, citing significant improvements in their expected goals percentage. While acknowledging the small two-game sample size, Duffett notes Michkov is currently on pace for 46 goals and suggests keeping him paired with Martone and Noah Cates.
