The Philadelphia Flyers executed their second round of training camp roster cuts on Wednesday, assigning players to the AHL or returning them to junior clubs. Goaltender Dan Vladar suffered an injury during the first period of Tuesday's preseason game against the Boston Bruins, which ended in a 5-1 loss. Head coach Rick Tocchet confirmed that Vladar is considered day-to-day, avoiding a prolonged absence.
Following the cuts, Tocchet reorganized the remaining training camp roster into an NHL group, revealing prospective regular-season line combinations. The coaching staff is also revamping Philadelphia's power play, building a top unit around Trevor Zegras and Matvei Michkov. Meanwhile, young defensemen Jamie Drysdale, Cam York, and David Jiricek remain central focuses on the blue line.
