The Predators and Kraken swap former first-round picks as Wright finally finds a change of scenery.

The Nashville Predators have acquired center Shane Wright from the Seattle Kraken in exchange for winger Matthew Wood in a permanent trade involving young talent. Nashville aims to address its center depth with the former fourth-overall pick, who tallied four points across 14 games prior to the deal.
Both players are in the final season of their respective entry-level contracts and will become restricted free agents next summer. Wood, a 6-foot-4 forward who recorded 30 points in his rookie year, departs Nashville after scoring three points in 14 games this season.
