The Detroit Red Wings have recalled goaltender Michal Postava from the AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins under emergency conditions. In a corresponding roster transaction, Detroit placed defenseman Albert Johansson on injured reserve retroactive to October 24.
Postava's recall follows a lower-body injury to netminder John Gibson, leaving Daniil Tarasov in line for starts. The 24-year-old Postava recently earned his first NHL win on October 26 against the Edmonton Oilers and was named AHL Goalie of the Month after posting a 5-0 record, a 1.20 GAA, and a .955 save percentage.
