Michael Misa has had his highs and lows this season. There have been offensive flashes and defensive miscues, such as…

San Jose Sharks forward Michael Misa is displaying strong potential while still working to earn the full trust of head coach Ryan Warsofsky. The 19-year-old center is averaging 13:50 of ice time through the early part of the season, trailing top centers Macklin Celebrini and Alex Wennberg. Warsofsky emphasized that while Misa can make dangerous offensive plays when moving with pace, he still needs to improve his defensive consistency.
According to tracking data from Stathletes, Misa leads all Sharks forwards in 5-on-5 successful passes and puck recoveries per 60 minutes, while significantly improving his puck battle win rate to 81.8 percent. However, he ranks lowest among team forwards in 5-on-5 shot attempts. The preview also notes that goaltender Yaroslav Askarov is scheduled to start for San Jose against the Boston Bruins.
