The San Jose Sharks have officially activated forward Adam Gaudette off injured reserve. To open a spot on the roster, Brett Leason cleared waivers and was assigned to the AHL on Friday. Gaudette was designated as a healthy scratch for Saturday afternoon's game against Edmonton.
Gaudette is entering the final season of his two-year, $4 million contract after recording 17 goals in 66 games last year. Pro Hockey Rumors notes that new additions Mason Marchment and Ivar Stenberg could create stiffer competition for Gaudette's minutes and role.
