San Jose Sharks forward Ivar Stenberg has emerged as a top candidate for the 2027 Calder Trophy following his selection at No. 2 overall in the 2026 draft. Betting markets have placed Stenberg third on major boards with odds between +575 and +700, positioning him closely behind favorites Gavin McKenna of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Porter Martone of the Philadelphia Flyers.
Stenberg's candidacy is supported by a historic draft season with Frolunda in the Swedish Hockey League, where he recorded 33 points across 43 games. He also notched 10 points in seven games during Sweden's gold-medal run at the 2026 World Juniors, and recently scored twice in 25 seconds during the Rookie Faceoff.
