San Jose Sharks defenseman Luca Cagnoni made franchise history on Thursday by scoring his first career NHL goal as an overtime winner against the Florida Panthers. The 21-year-old blueliner, playing in his tenth NHL contest, found the net to secure the season-opening victory at SAP Center.
Cagnoni became the first player in Sharks history to record his maiden NHL goal in overtime. In addition to scoring the decisive goal, he also contributed an assist earlier in the contest.
