Frederick Gaudreau scored two second-period goals to help propel the Seattle Kraken to a 6-3 victory over the Detroit Red Wings on Friday. Seattle broke open the game with four consecutive goals in the second period, with Ben Meyers contributing a goal and two assists while Berkly Catton added a goal and an assist.
Mackie Samoskevich and Vince Dunn also found the net for Seattle, while goaltender Philipp Grubauer stopped 38 shots. Detroit received goals from Viktor Arvidsson, as well as first-career NHL goals from William Wallinder and Michael Brandsegg-Nygard, but John Gibson and the Red Wings could not withstand Seattle's middle-frame surge.
