Seattle Kraken Accomplish Stunning Scoring Feat in First 5 Games

The Seattle Kraken have achieved a notable scoring surge to start the 2026-27 NHL season, scoring six goals in three of their first five games. Following a six-goal performance against the Detroit Red Wings on Friday night, the team has totaled 21 goals, averaging 4.2 goals per game after finishing 28th in scoring last season.

Todd Matthews notes that while Seattle previously scored six goals twice against the struggling Calgary Flames, doing so against a strong defensive Detroit team legitimizes their high-octane offense. The Kraken entered Friday's contest with 11 different goal scorers, though Matthews emphasizes the team must develop consistency against elite opponents like Edmonton and Vegas.
