Kraken Douse Flames 6-1 in Home Opener, Samoskevich Scores Twice

The Seattle Kraken defeated the Calgary Flames 6-1 in their home opener at Climate Pledge Arena on October 5, 2026. Playing the second night of a back-to-back, Seattle took an early lead following a steal and goal by Berkly Catton. Offseason trade acquisition Mackie Samoskevich contributed two goals in the dominant victory.

Seattle's offense continued with goals from Bobby McMann, assisted by Chandler Stephenson, and Shane Wright, who scored on a backhand pass from Catton. The victory repeated a 6-1 win over Calgary from earlier in the week.
