Binnington to start after Hofer posts 25-save shutout Friday in 4-0 win over Stars; Toropchenko out, either Dube or Dean to make season debut

The St. Louis Blues face the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday in the second matchup of a back-to-back set. Goaltender Jordan Binnington is confirmed to start in net following Joel Hofer's 25-save shutout in a 4-0 victory against the Dallas Stars. Forward Alexey Toropchenko is sidelined due to an upper-body injury, while Dillon Dube and Zach Dean will both make their season debuts.
St. Louis head coach Jim Montgomery will also sit Ross Johnston and Justin Barron as healthy scratches. Defenseman Brandon Carlo avoided supplemental discipline following a game misconduct penalty against Dallas and remains in the lineup. Colorado is expected to start Mackenzie Blackwood in goal after an 8-4 win over the Los Angeles Kings.
