Theo Lindstein has been scratched yet again and now rumors are beginning to swirl that his days in St. Louis could be numered.

St. Louis Blues defenseman Theo Lindstein faces an uncertain future after being healthy-scratched for multiple consecutive games early in the regular season. Head coach Jim Montgomery replaced the 21-year-old former first-round pick with waiver acquisition Justin Barron, and reports indicate Lindstein is set to be scratched again against the Ottawa Senators.
Josh Berg writes that the benching, combined with trade rumors linking St. Louis to Carolina's Alexander Nikishin and Detroit's Simon Edvinsson, could signal Lindstein's departure. While the writer notes the scratches could simply be a development plan, the team's defensive depth may ultimately squeeze Lindstein out.
