The Chicago Blackhawks earned their first win of the season with a 4-2 victory against the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday. Goals from Sam Rinzel and Anton Frondell in the second period, alongside empty-netters from Cole Smith and Frank Nazar, helped Chicago snap a season-opening three-game skid. Spencer Knight turned away 25 shots in goal during Chicago's home opener.
Mason McTavish and Connor McMichael scored for the Blues, while goaltender Joel Hofer made 17 saves. The Blackhawks suffered an injury blow as Teuvo Teravainen exited with an apparent ankle injury. Before the game, Chicago honored veteran Patrick Kane, who returned to the United Center after signing a two-year deal in July.
