Overturned goal zapped momentum, St. Louis failed to get it back; lack of urgency showed in too many instances; third period push wasn't enough; McMichael, Parayko played exceptionally well; top line gets broken up, Holloway accepts blame

The St. Louis Blues concluded their three-game road trip with a 4-2 defeat against the Chicago Blackhawks at the United Center on Tuesday. Mason McTavish opened the scoring for St. Louis in the first period, but Chicago responded in the second with goals from Sam Rinzel and Anton Frondell following an overturned Blues goal. An empty-netter from Cole Smith helped seal Chicago's victory before Connor McMichael added a late power-play goal.
Head coach Jim Montgomery altered the top line during the game, shifting Dylan Holloway off the unit after continued offensive struggles. The Blues outshot the Blackhawks 13-4 in the third period but failed to recover from a second-period lapse, missing the net 18 times over the contest.
