Tim Stützle had a goal and an assist, Shane Pinto and Stephen Halliday scored and the Ottawa Senators defeated the New Jersey Devils 4-1 on Monday night to keep their hot start going.

Tim Stützle tallied a goal and an assist to lead the Ottawa Senators to a 4-1 victory against the New Jersey Devils on Monday night in Newark. Shane Pinto and Stephen Halliday also scored for Ottawa, while goaltender Linus Ullmark made 29 saves. The win improved the Senators' record to five wins in their first six games, while New Jersey dropped to 2-3-0.
Ottawa secured the victory despite facing mounting injuries, losing defenceman Nikolas Matinpalo to an upper-body injury following a boarding hit by Anthony Mantha. Already playing without Jake Sanderson, Artem Zub, and William Eklund, coach Travis Green's squad relied on timely scoring, including Halliday's power-play goal. Arseny Gritsyuk scored the lone goal for New Jersey late in the third period.
