From the leadership, on-ice performance and cap hit, this forward keeps showing how important he is to the Lightning's future
Bolts by the Bay's Harrison Smajovits argues that forward Brandon Hagel represents the future of the Tampa Bay Lightning following his standout performance in a 5-3 win against the New York Islanders. Hagel recorded his fourth career hat trick, scored the game-winner, and assisted Jake Guentzel's power-play goal during the victory.
Smajovits highlights Hagel's leadership qualities as making a case for him as a future team captain. Additionally, the writer emphasizes that Hagel's team-friendly contract, which carries a $6.5 million annual cap hit through 2032, offers Tampa Bay valuable roster-building flexibility alongside teammate Anthony Cirelli.
