It has been a tumultuous few months for the Detroit Red Wings, who now own the longest active playoff drought in the NHL after the Buffalo Sabres qualified for the postseason last year.
Daily Faceoff reports that Dylan Larkin could make his season debut for the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday night against the Ottawa Senators. Larkin was stripped of his captaincy after requesting a trade, which remains unresolved following the departure of former general manager Steve Yzerman. After being heavily booed by home fans during introductions at the season opener, Larkin's return is viewed as potentially adding further turmoil to Detroit's winless 0-2-0 start.
On Daily Faceoff Live, hosts Tyler Yaremchuk and Carter Hutton discussed how playing in front of a hostile home crowd could impact Larkin and his teammates. Hutton noted that while Larkin faces an emotional and rare situation being booed by his own supporters, the professional focus of in-game play should help him block out the crowd noise.
