The Lightning opened their three-game road trip Tuesday night with a 6-2 win over the defending Western Conference champions in Vegas.

Nikita Kucherov recorded a three-point performance to reach 1,137 career points, tying former captain Steven Stamkos for the Tampa Bay Lightning's all-time scoring record. Kucherov achieved the milestone during Tampa Bay's 6-2 road victory over the Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday night.
Kucherov assisted on goals by Brandon Hagel and Anthony Cirelli before scoring on a third-period breakaway to match the record. Lightning head coach Jon Cooper praised the forward as a special talent, and Kucherov will have a chance to claim the record outright against Colorado on Friday.
