Toronto Maple Leafs winger Dakota Joshua has been assigned to the AHL's Toronto Marlies for a conditioning stint. Joshua has been sidelined on long-term injured reserve since the beginning of the season due to an upper-body injury, and the move signals he is nearing a return to the NHL lineup.
Under AHL conditioning stint rules, Joshua is permitted to play up to three games or stay for six days, with the potential for a two-game extension. Joshua previously posted 10 goals and 18 points across 55 games for Toronto last season after being acquired from Vancouver.
