The Toronto Maple Leafs have placed forward Miles Wood on injured reserve after he missed morning practice ahead of a 5-4 overtime loss to the Buffalo Sabres. The team has not disclosed the specific nature of the injury, but the placement on injured reserve requires Wood to remain sidelined for a minimum of seven days.
Wood joined the Maple Leafs from the Columbus Blue Jackets as part of a multi-player trade headlined by Kirill Marchenko and Matthew Knies. Although recently recalled from the AHL's Toronto Marlies, Wood has yet to make his NHL appearance for Toronto.
