Following a 5-2 defeat to the Calgary Flames, head coach Jim Hiller addressed the media regarding Easton Cowan taking personal blame for the outcome. Hiller praised the young forward for accepting accountability after a difficult first period but emphasized that individual fault did not rest on Cowan, calling the team's excessive turnovers a lineup-wide failure.
Hiller also credited goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky with keeping the team competitive and praised Zack MacEwen's physical energy. However, he expressed concern over forward Kirill Marchenko, who exited during the second period due to an injury and was unable to return.
