The Toronto Maple Leafs caught a huge break, amid a frightening injury situation in Columbus on Tuesday night.

Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Jake McCabe appears to have avoided serious injury after leaving Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets. McCabe exited the game during the first period following a high stick under his visor from Kent Johnson, with reports indicating his departure was precautionary.
McCabe's status remains uncertain for Thursday's game against the New York Rangers, though a return against the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday is possible. Following the injury, Troy Stecher led Toronto's defensemen with over 26 minutes of ice time under coach Jim Hiller as the team killed all six penalties.
