The Maple Leafs will have to get used to life minus another key piece.

Toronto Maple Leafs centre John Tavares is out week-to-week with a lower-body injury and could miss up to six weeks, the team announced on Saturday before their game against the New York Islanders. Tavares has recorded two goals and five assists in seven games this season.
The 36-year-old was injured during Thursday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Buffalo Sabres following a collision with Josh Norris, who slid into Tavares after being bumped by Nick Paul. The injury adds to Toronto's roster concerns, with veteran defenceman Chris Tanev also currently sidelined week-to-week due to an upper-body injury.
