Defenseman Ben Danford made an immediate impact upon returning to the Toronto Marlies, setting up Brendan Brisson's overtime winner against the Belleville Senators. The Toronto Maple Leafs are reportedly weighing Danford's long-term development against their immediate defensive needs at the NHL level following recent injuries to Jake McCabe and Chris Tanev. Meanwhile, forward Miroslav Holinka scored his first professional goal for the Marlies during the same weekend series.

Luke Haymes recorded an assist and fought in defense of Henrik Rybinski for the Marlies, while Tyler Hopkins reached seven goals in nine games in the OHL. In the NCAA, Colorado College freshman Zac Olsen scored his first collegiate goal, and Michigan senior Nick Moldenhauer contributed three assists across two victories.
