Chris Tanev is out, and the Maple Leafs need help on defence. Could a swap with Nashville bring back a familiar face?

A trade proposal highlighted by Heavy.com suggests the Toronto Maple Leafs re-acquire defenceman Ilya Lyubushkin from the Nashville Predators in exchange for forward Miles Wood. The Maple Leafs are seeking defensive reinforcement after Chris Tanev was ruled out week-to-week with an injury. Sportsnet's Justin Bourne reports that Toronto GM John Chayka is exploring available options across the league.
NHL Trade Talk notes that Lyubushkin, who has not played for Nashville this season, is in the final year of a three-year, $9.75 million contract. Wood is currently in the AHL during the fourth year of a six-year, $15 million deal, presenting a low-risk depth swap for both franchises.
