Golden Knights 3, Canucks 2: Hard, fast, direct Vegas cashes winning ticket

The Vegas Golden Knights defeated the Vancouver Canucks 3-2 on Sunday, relying on their speed, direct play, and star offensive talent. Jack Eichel, Mitch Marner, and Mark Stone all figured into the scoring for Vegas, with Marner, Marc Gatcomb, and Victor Olofsson providing the goals. Paul Cotter and Jonathan Lekkerimaki replied with goals for Vancouver.

Canucks goaltender Kevin Lankinen made 25 saves to keep Vancouver within striking distance despite heavy pressure from Vegas. Vancouver head coach Manny Malhotra noted post-game that while his team competed, their forecheck fell short against a disciplined, well-oiled Golden Knights defense.
