Golden Knights defeat Sharks in shootout, move to 2-0 in preseason

The Vegas Golden Knights defeated the San Jose Sharks 2-1 in a shootout on Tuesday at SAP Center to improve to 2-0 in the preseason. Vegas goaltender Carter Hart made 28 saves and stopped two of three attempts in the shootout, while forwards Matyas Sapovaliv and Braeden Bowman scored the deciding goals under coach Ryan Craig.

The contest was scoreless until Sharks forward Michael Misa scored on a power play early in the third period. Vegas forward Alexander Holtz equalized at 8:22 of the third period, while San Jose goaltender Yaroslav Askarov finished with 22 saves.
