The Vegas Golden Knights announced Wednesday that they have signed center William Karlsson to a two-year, $13.5 million contract extension. The new deal begins after the conclusion of his current eight-year, $47.2 million contract, which expires at the end of this season. Karlsson, 33, logged roughly 17 and a half minutes centering Vegas' second line during Tuesday's 5-2 season-opening win against the Chicago Blackhawks.
Karlsson was originally selected by the Golden Knights in the 2017 NHL expansion draft from the Columbus Blue Jackets. An original member of the franchise, he ranks second in Golden Knights history with 403 points and helped Vegas win the Stanley Cup in 2023.
