Marc Gatcomb scored late in the second period to lead the Vegas Golden Knights to a 3-2 victory over the Vancouver Canucks on Sunday night at Rogers Arena. After falling behind early, Vegas generated three goals in the second frame to secure their first road win of the season and rebound from a recent loss to Anaheim.
Vancouver opened the scoring with a power-play goal from Paul Cotter before Mitch Marner and Victor Olofsson responded for Vegas. Jonathan Lekkerimäki tied the game at 17:54 of the second period, but Gatcomb answered 34 seconds later off assists from Braeden Bowman and Nic Dowd to deliver his first goal with the team. Goaltender Adin Hill helped the Golden Knights protect the lead throughout a scoreless final period.
