The Story in 60 Seconds

The Vegas Golden Knights have placed 24-year-old defenseman Lukas Cormier on waivers as part of several roster moves. Cormier, who started the season on the injured non-roster list following an offseason procedure, is expected to report to the AHL's Henderson Silver Knights if he goes unclaimed. In related moves, Vegas recalled forward Alexander Holtz and placed defenseman Parker Wotherspoon on injured reserve with an upper-body injury.

Cormier signed a one-year, two-way contract worth $850,000 at the NHL level in July after posting 47 points in 49 games with Henderson during the 2025-26 season. Originally drafted in the third round in 2020, Cormier has played in two career NHL games, but blue-line competition has kept him outside the main roster.
