The Capitals turned in one of their best games of the young season, but now will hit the road with one of their top players facing NHL discipline.

The Washington Capitals defeated the Florida Panthers 4-3 on Saturday, but forward Tom Wilson faces potential NHL discipline following an early game misconduct. Wilson was assessed a major penalty and ejected just 8:55 into the contest for boarding Florida forward Sandis Vilmanis, who was injured on the play.
Despite playing without Wilson, Washington rebounded behind a goal from Aliaksei Protas and defenseman Jack St. Ivany's first career NHL goal. The Capitals now head on an upcoming road trip to Ottawa and New Jersey with Wilson's availability uncertain pending a review by the NHL Department of Player Safety.
