It is the footage that all but confirms Spencer Leniu’s impending exit from the Roosters.
Sydney Roosters prop Spencer Leniu is reportedly set to join the Parramatta Eels on a four-year deal following the club's 19-18 Grand Final victory over the Newcastle Knights. Emotional post-match footage captured Leniu embracing teammate Naufahu Whyte, further pointing toward his exit despite having one year left on his contract. Reporter Brent Read stated on NRL 360 that the transfer is nearly finalized.
While Leniu departs alongside several teammates, the Roosters are set to retain rising star Salesi Foketi on a new three-year contract. Foketi impressed in the Grand Final with 98 run metres and 35 tackles, ensuring the club secures his future alongside fellow second-rower Siua Wong through at least 2028.
