Castleford Tigers have appointed Gareth Whittaker as their new head of performance ahead of the 2027 Super League season. Whittaker joins from Huddersfield Giants, continuing Castleford's comprehensive staff overhaul following a disappointing campaign where the club finished 13th in the league.
The move reunites Whittaker with new Castleford head coach Paul Rowley, whom he worked alongside for four seasons at Salford Red Devils. Whittaker also brings previous working relationships with new assistant coaches Luke Robinson and Simon Grix, as well as player-coach Marc Sneyd.
