He was linked to a NRL exit in recent months.

New Zealand Warriors fullback Taine Tuaupiki has confirmed his future by signing a contract extension through the end of the 2029 season. The decision comes after earlier rumors linking him to a secret release clause to join the Super League, which the club blocked in September. Head coach Andrew Webster and general manager Andrew McFadden both praised the 27-year-old following his breakout year.
Tuaupiki originally joined the Warriors on a train-and-trial deal in late 2022 before establishing himself as a key starter. During the 2026 NRL season, he played 22 games, totaled 124 tackle busts, scored seven tries, and won the Dally M Tackle of the Year award.
