  • Warrington Wolves, Toulouse Olympique, and York Knights were the only other sides judged to have passed.
The Story in 60 Seconds

Serious About Rugby League writer Sam Brocksom assessed all 14 Super League clubs against their pre-season expectations, finding that only four teams met or exceeded their assigned targets. Wakefield Trinity emerged as the standout performers by exceeding expectations to claim their first Grand Final title. Toulouse Olympique, Warrington Wolves, and York Knights were the other three clubs deemed to have passed their targets.

Ten clubs were rated as failures by Brocksom, including Bradford Bulls, who finished last in 14th place amid an injury crisis. Highly rated sides such as Wigan Warriors, Hull KR, and Leeds Rhinos missed out on targeted Grand Final victories, while Hull FC, Castleford Tigers, and Catalans Dragons endured underperforming campaigns.
