Sir Kevin Sinfield has reiterated his lifelong commitment to fundraising for Motor Neurone Disease (MND) research, revealing plans to take his challenges to Australia and New Zealand. The rugby league icon completed his seventh and final UK 7 in 7 challenge on Saturday, arriving at the Super League Grand Final to deliver the match ball after raising over £1.4 million. The achievement pushed his total career fundraising across all seven events to more than £12 million.
Speaking on BBC Breakfast, the 46-year-old explained that future challenges must look different as he ages. Sinfield revealed discussions since March 2026 to stage a potential 7 in 7 event in Australia and New Zealand, hoping to unite rugby league, rugby union, and Australian rules football in the global push to find a cure for MND.
