Leeds Rhinos icon Sir Kevin Sinfield has reflected on receiving his knighthood from Prince William at Windsor Castle following his extensive Motor Neurone Disease (MND) fundraising efforts. Sinfield, who has raised more than £13 million for MND charities, discussed the ceremony on The Good, The Bad and The Rugby podcast, admitting he felt nervous once the formal procedures were explained to him.
Sinfield reinforced his commitment to MND fundraising, confirming plans to continue his campaign with a potential challenge in Australia and New Zealand. He also expressed hope that fellow rugby figures, including Lewis Moody and Ed Slater, will help maintain the awareness movement initially sparked by the late Doddie Weir and Rob Burrow.
