Sir Kevin Sinfield has surpassed both his £777,777 fundraising goal and the £1 million milestone during his seventh and final 7 in 7 ultra-marathon challenge. Leeds Rhinos confirmed the achievement late Thursday night after Sinfield completed his fifth ultra-marathon. The annual endurance campaign has raised over £1 million in each of its seven consecutive years, having originally started in 2020 inspired by his late Leeds teammate Rob Burrow.
The challenge concludes on Saturday as Sinfield runs from St Helens to Old Trafford, where he will deliver the match ball for the Super League Grand Final. Funds raised from the challenge benefit several motor neurone disease charities, including the MND Association, Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association, My Name'5 Doddie Foundation, MND Scotland, Leeds Hospitals Charity, and The Darby Rimmer MND Foundation.
