St Helens captain Matty Lees has shared a positive update on his rehabilitation from a season-ending knee injury suffered in May. Speaking as a pundit during Premier Sports' Rugby League World Cup coverage, the 28-year-old prop confirmed that he is nearing the end of his recovery process and has resumed running ahead of pre-season training.
Lees missed out on England's World Cup squad following knee surgery required after a collision in the Challenge Cup semi-final against Wigan Warriors. The upcoming 2027 Super League season will mark his final campaign with St Helens, with Lees having already signed a deal to join the PNG Chiefs for 2028.
