London near Super League return as NRL push back on resistance

London Broncos are increasingly likely to return to Super League in 2027 because the NRL is demanding their inclusion as part of a proposed partnership. The Australian competition, led by executive chair Peter V'Landys, reportedly considers London's admission a non-negotiable requirement for finalizing the deal.

Super League officials previously pushed back against adding a 15th team over scheduling, logistical issues, and Magic Weekend complications. London may also miss out on a top-14 spot in the upcoming IMG gradings, but administrators could be forced to elevate them regardless to complete the agreement.
