New Crusaders head coach Scott Hansen said that Perrin's opportunity will make him a better coach moving forward.

Crusaders forwards coach Dan Perrin will join the USA Eagles coaching staff ahead of the 2027 Rugby World Cup while remaining in his role with the Super Rugby Pacific club. Perrin is set to take charge of the Eagles' forwards department for the remainder of their 2026 schedule and the upcoming global tournament.
Crusaders head coach Scott Hansen confirmed the club fully supports Perrin's international move, stating that the exposure will benefit both the coach and the franchise upon his return. Before the 2027 World Cup pool matches against Japan, France, and Samoa, Perrin will assist the USA in fixtures against Australia A, Georgia, Romania, and Hong Kong China.
