LEO CULLEN’S first match in charge of Leinster ended in a tryless defeat away to Edinburgh in 2015 in front of a crowd of just 2,479 in Meggetland. There did not seem to be a whole lot more in Ellis…

Leo Cullen began his final season as Leinster head coach with a defeat against the Lions at Ellis Park in Johannesburg. Despite the loss, a youthful Leinster side secured two late bonus points. Scrum-half Fintan Gunne delivered a standout performance by scoring a first-half hat-trick as Leinster led 19-17 at the break.
Gunne's tries came on five and 14 minutes, followed by a third set up by Caspar Gabriel, who was making his first start. The Lions stayed competitive behind a first-half brace from Erich Cronje. Flanker Scott Penny noted that while bonus points are valuable, the team had targeted a victory.
