Scott Barrett has addressed Dave Rennie's call not to reinstate him with the All Blacks captaincy as he prepares to return from a lay-off to face Australia.

Former All Blacks captain Scott Barrett has expressed peace with losing the captaincy ahead of his return against Australia at Eden Park. The 32-year-old lock returns under new coach Dave Rennie, who labeled Barrett a reluctant captain and appointed Codie Taylor following Ardie Savea's season-ending injury.
Barrett missed significant time following ankle, Achilles, and back surgeries, sitting out the Super Rugby Pacific season and the test series against South Africa. He expressed excitement to return in any capacity as New Zealand defends its 11-match winning streak against the Wallabies.
